Lately I’ve been listening to a lot of Miles Davis. I bought a ten CD boxset of his, and it’s one of the best purchases i’ve made in a long time.
For any of you who have read ‘City Streets’, you will know that my main character ‘Isabella Moreno’ is a huge fan of jazz. That was one of the three factors of myself that I put into the novel was her love of music.
Jazz is a genre that I feel helps me to be a better writer – I know that if it’s late at night and I’m listening to Miles Davis for a while, words will fall onto a page and before I know it, I’m surrounded by reams of paper.
I’d definitely search for ‘Round Midnight’, guys. That’s one of my favourite tracks and one that really helps me think!
